Montgomery Metro Communications Cooperative District
Elmore County has begun migrating to the Montgomery Metro Communications Cooperative District P25 system. Elmore County Sheriff, Eclectic Police, Wetumpka Police, and Coosada Police have switched to the new system. Tallassee Police remains on VHF but is patched to MMCCD. All Elmore County law enforcement dispatch talkgroups on MMCCD are encrypted except for the Tallassee Police patch. Elmore County Fire, Eclectic Fire/EMS, Millbrook Fire and Tallassee Fire currently employ a mix of VHF and MMCCD. Wetumpka Fire has mostly switched to MMCCD, but traffic is still simulcasted on VHF. Fire and EMS talkgroups are in the clear.
At this time, Elmore County is served by a single MMCCD site located atop Bald Knob in Wetumpka. However, two additional sites have been built to provide additional coverage and are currently in the process of being brought online. These two new sites are located Kowaliga (providing coverage in the northern part of the county near Eclectic and Lake Martin) and on Fire Tower Road (providing enhanced coverage to the eastern side of the county, such as Tallassee), respectively.

Elmore County Sheriff
Elmore County Sheriff now utilizes MMCCD for all primary communications and is fully encrypted. The sheriff also has repeaters licensed on 159.36, 159.105, 158.76, with remote links on 453.8375.
Elmore County Services
(*) Roads 156.105 input not licensed? Inputs of 156.12, 153.9725 on KTH646. Possible patch on MMCCD TG 2949, but very heavy static makes distinguishing voice traffic nearly impossible.
Elmore County Fire
Elmore County fire employs a mix of VHF and MMCCD for communications. Their VHF repeaters and MMCCD are patched together. Stations are numbered 1 to 23 and relate to different geographic locations within the county. Two special units are ID'd for HAZMAT(#25) & SAR(#31)
- Units from each station are identified by their unit number which relates to the station; (i.e. Station 1 will have units in the form of 1xx, or "one-twenty-four" while units from Station 16 will be ID'd by 16xx or "sixteen-hundred")

EMS Agencies / Hospitals
Haynes EMS
Haynes provides EMS services in Elmore County and now utilizes Southern Linc (PTT over LTE) for primary communications. Southern Linc traffic appears to be patched to MMCCD on talkgroup 2929 (as of 10/25). Haynes also operates in several other neighboring counties, so traffic on TG 2929 is not exclusive to Elmore County. For example, Autauga County units are also heard.
Municipalities
Coosada
Coosada Police utilize MMCCD and are fully encrypted.
Eclectic
Eclectic Police utilize MMCCD and are fully encrypted. Fire and EMS employ a mix of VHF and MMCCD. The VHF repeater and MMCCD are patched together.
Millbrook
Millbrook Fire utilizes a mix of VHF and MMCCD. Their VHF repeater and MMCCD are patched together.
Tallassee
At this time, Tallassee uses VHF for their primary communication, although MMCCD is starting to be utilized as well. Both Tallassee Police and Fire are patched to MMCCD in the clear.
Wetumpka
Wetumpka Police utilize MMCCD and are nearly fully encrypted aside from their special event talkgroup. Wetumpka Fire has mostly transitioned to MMCCD, but their VHF repeater and MMCCD remain patched together.
Wind Creek Casino operates a multi-frequency, fully encrypted NEXEDGE trunking system.
